Climate & Weather

Bhutan has a mountain climate with cool mornings and evenings throughout most of the year. Weather conditions may change quickly depending on altitude and season.

Mountain Roads & Transfers

Roads in Bhutan pass through mountains, valleys, forests, and small Himalayan towns. Travel times may be longer than expected due to winding mountain roads and weather conditions.

Altitude & Wellbeing

Some regions in Bhutan are located at higher altitude. Mild tiredness or shortness of breath may occasionally occur. We recommend drinking enough water and avoiding overexertion during the first days.

Food & Cuisine

Bhutanese cuisine may include spicy dishes, rice, vegetables, soups, and local specialties. International and vegetarian options are available in tourist hotels.

Connectivity

Mobile signal and internet are generally available in towns and hotels. Remote mountain areas may have limited connectivity.
